GIFFT First Project Meeting Concludes Successfully in Kaunas, Lithuania

The First Project Meeting of the GIFFT Horizon Europe project took place on March 6-7, 2024, at the Lithuanian Energy Institute in Kaunas, Lithuania. The two-day event brought together the consortium members to discuss the progress and plans for this innovative project, which aims to develope cutting-edge technology which leverages plasma-assisted combustion and gasification to valorize biomass and waste for a more circular manufacturing model.

During the meeting, the Work Package leaders presented the status of their work, deliverables, milestones, and challenges. The meeting included a visit to the upcoming test facilities and a plasma burner model test.

On the second day, the consortium members visited the glass-making plant of project partner AB "Panevėžio Stiklas" in Panevėžys, Lithuania. This off-site meeting provided an opportunity for the partners to witness the industrial processes firsthand and discuss potential applications of the GIFFT technologies.
