GIFFT Coordinator Lithuanian Energy Institute Hosts Successful GIFFT Outreach Event

On March 26, 2024, the Lithuanian Energy Institute successfully hosted the GIFFT outreach event, featuring a problem-solving contest for students. The event aimed to enhance participants' understanding of waste utilization opportunities and inspire innovative solutions for converting waste into energy.

Four student groups, each consisting of 4-5 members, participated in the four-week exercise that commenced on February 27. The students received guidance from expert researchers throughout the event.

During the contest, the student groups proposed the most suitable technologies for converting waste into energy, thereby avoiding direct landfill disposal. A panel of experts evaluated the performances of each group and provided constructive feedback.

The GIFFT outreach event provided a platform for students to showcase their creativity and knowledge while working towards a more sustainable future. The Lithuanian Energy Institute congratulates all participants for their outstanding efforts and innovative solutions.
